Chris is in Cairns, a place he loves because no case is ever straightforward in the tropics, and he is not disappointed. His first case is to try to solve the mystery medical condition of Snoopy, a Jack Russell terrier, who at odd times suffers strange and potentially deadly attacks.

Chris is still in Cairns working as a locum at the local Marlin Coast Vet Clinic and yet again the tropic north does not disappoint when it come the weird and wild animals. First up, Chris is called to a local crocodile park to treat Ted, a 5.4 metre monster with savage wounds to his snout after coming off second best in a fight.

Chris has been invited to Abu Dhabi after a special invitation to visit an extraordinary veterinary hospital. The hospital is for sick and injured falcons, and they are treated like royalty. Chris has to preform delicate surgery on a falcon wing.

A tiny kitten has been found abandoned in a cardboard box, and Chris is shocked at the extent of her injuries. She desperately needs surgery to try to repair her shattered leg. Then it's a heartwarming search to find her a new home.

The finale to Chris's trip is an unforgettable encounter with some of China's precious Giant Pandas. Chris is granted the rare privilege of hand feeding some youngsters. He's then allowed into the most sacred area of all - the panda kindergarten to meet the adorable babies.

A challenge for Chris as he’s confronted with a 2-tonne southern White rhino. The massive animal has sore feet which need Chris’ urgent attention.

A heart-warming case for Chris when little rescue pup Anika is brought in to the clinic. The brave pup was born with a badly deformed leg, and Chris has to work out the best solution to give her a second chance at life.

Chris is confronted with an unlikely snake bite victim. It’s the snake itself! At the Australian Reptile Park, the massive King Brown called Hank the Tank, has been biting off the end of its own tail. King Browns are the world’s most venomous snake, so getting anywhere near it for treatment is extremely dangerous.
