Chris faces one of the most traumatic nights of his career when Bella the pug is rushed into the Bondi clinic. She is in labour and x-rays show she’s carrying six huge puppies. During an emergency caesarean Chris and a team of vet nurses battle to save the babies and a critical Bella.

A pomeranian falls ill after swallowing a bikini, a distraught owner rushes their puppy to the clinic after accidentally running over him and Dr. Chris examines a huge reticulated python who has stopped eating.

A mother duck has decided to hatch her nine babies on a high-rise balcony. It’s a terrible choice. There’s no food, water or shelter from the sun and no way of getting out. Rounding them up is Chris’ first problem but their lives are in danger again when the release doesn’t go according to plan.

Mitsy may appear to be normal but there is something terribly wrong. The rescue kitten is struggling to walk since being micro chipped and her foster family is worried that a misplaced chip may have caused spinal damage. Andrew Marchevsky is left with no other option but to operate. Will the surgery restore Mitzi's ability to walk, or will she be made permanently worse?

Chris is answering a call for help from May Dodd, who runs an animal shelter for abandoned donkeys. One of her residents, Dusty, has developed a very strange walk. May is worried if nothing can be done to help Dusty walk normally again, the donkey’s diminished quality of life that will be unbearable. Can Chris get to the bottom of this mysterious problem and save Dusty?

There’s no time to rest as Chris is sent straight out to help a pregnant cow through a difficult labor. And his midwife duties are not over yet.

Chris is still in Cairns working as a locum at the local Marlin Coast Vet Clinic and yet again the tropic north does not disappoint when it come the weird and wild animals. First up, Chris is called to a local crocodile park to treat Ted, a 5.4 metre monster with savage wounds to his snout after coming off second best in a fight.

Chris is shocked when a wild Currawong that has been speared by a wooden skewer is brought into the clinic. The spear has been in place for a number of weeks and new skin is growing around the spear, which must be removed but Chris is concerned that the shock of surgery may kill the wild bird.

Pluto the singing Dalmatian has lost his voice and Chris fears that the cause may be sinister. Pluto is very special to Chris because he was one of Chris’ first every patients.
