A festive trip down memory lane prompts Pat to question his very identity. The ghosts come up with a surprise Christmas present for Alison, whose family lunch does not go to plan.

Mike's mum visits, but her attempts to lend a hand drive Alison and Mike mad. To make matters worse, Betty soon senses something is awry with Button House, but does she know what.

Actor Richard returns home from London to visit his dad, Ken, a year on from the passing of his mum, Jean. He soon realises his dad may need more help than he originally thought.

Richard decides the time has come to clear Ken's house of all his junk. The arrival of Mr Oddjob, local handyman and Richard's former school nemesis, complicates matters further.

Richard offers to take Ken to the local golf club, unaware that he's about to play a much bigger part in integrating his dad back into the community than he'd originally intended.

Richard battles medical receptionists in order to secure Ken a doctor's appointment and is asked to impart his acting wisdom to the local am-dram group.
