As summer starts to heat up most Australians are winding down at work and getting ready to break for the year. For lifeguards it's the busiest time of the year.

It's Christmas day on Bondi and road weary travellers, local families, and Christmas orphans come to see Santa make an appearance.

18 year-old trainee Max is now in his third year, of what was expected to be, a 1-2 year traineeship. With a new trainee is on the block, and Max faces a do-or-die season.
