Juan, Sara and Samuel, all 15 years old, flee from Guatemala towards the USA. On their journey through Mexico they meet Chauk, a Tzotzil indian who does not speak Spanish and has no official documents. They believe they will find a better world beyond the USAMexico border but they run into a harsh reality.

Aji and Mamat, two members from different village head candidate camps, are fighting for the votes of Kusno, an old man who is known to be honest and difficult to bribe in his village. To get Kusnos vote, they must find Jamal who is missing.

While hitchhiking from Sofia to Ruse, Kamen meets Av, a 17yearold runaway girl. A compulsive liar, Av keeps inventing new identities and backstories, which threaten to get Kamen deeper and deeper into trouble.
